The British troops withdrew to their former positions, taking with them several hundreds of German prisoners. They destroyed a number of enemy tanks and guns. Aircraft gave full support to the land forces. Fighters destroyed 20 enemy planes and machine-gunned enemy motorised troops and attacked armoured cars and personnel. Other activity took place further behind the lines, targets at Benghazi, Bardia and Gazala being heavily bombed. Six British machines qre missing. .—_
