MINOR MISHAP
TO DUKE OF KENT’S PLANE WHEEL BOGS IN TAKE-OFF AT ABERDEEN. FLIGHT ABANDONED. Dy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, July 14. To the horror of hundreds lining the Dyce Aerodrome, Aberdeenshire, a wheel of the Duke of Kent’s plane bogged in taking off. The machine spun round to a stop. Before anyone could reach the door of the cabin, the Duke of Kent opened it and unconcernedly stepped out, smoking a cigqrette. He smiled broadly, bowed an acknowledgment of cheers and walked to the administration building, where he was advised to entrain for London. It was stated that conditions at the aerodrome were unsuitable for flying. The Duke of Kent had been fulfilling a number of engagements arranged by the herring industry.
