PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) A quiet wedding of interest to Lower Valley residents was solemnised at Martinborough recently when Iris, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Hooper, Waitapu, was married to Stanley, eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. Clarke, Tuhitarata. Mr and Mrs Clarke are spending their honeymoon in the north and will take up their residence at Tuhitarata. Mr and Mrs Crosbie, who intended to leave the district, have altered their plans and will continue to reside in the district. Mr Crosbie will again resume his duties as manager of the Lower Valley Dairy Company. The death occurred in the Masterton Hospital on Wednesday evening of Mr Wha Piripi, aged 60. a member of a well known family of this district. The deceased had resided in this district all his life. His wife predeceased him some years ago and he leaves three daughters, Mrs Thompson (Martinborough), Mrs D. Tikao and Miss Tangi Piripi (Pirinoa). The funeral will take place at Kohunui. Mr Rangi Piripi is a nephew. Mr Biggar, who recently bought a farm in this district, has taken up his residence there. Residents will regret to learn that Mr Stan Thomas, postmaster, is confined to his bed suffering from an attack of pleurisy. Mr Tout Duffy, Martinborough, is relieving him at the office. Mr Hugh Swainson, Lake Ferry, who has been in Wellington, has returned.
