SEVERE TYPHOON
HAVOC IN SHANGHAI SIX CHINESE KILLED. JAPANESE SHIP AGROUND. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. SHANGHAI. July 12. Six Chinese were killed and scores injured in a. typhoon which uprooted trees and lifted pedestrians off their i feet. Wireless stations have been put out of action and streets are flooded and littered with debris. The business quarter is deserted. The Japanese steamer Tian Marti, which is aground on Saddle Island, has appealed for assistance and the British steamer Isabel Moller is standing by. A number of ships are reported to be in distress.
