POLICE TAKE ACTION

IN WRESTLING MATCH JENSEN DISQUALIFIED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, May 12. After conceding a penalty fall to Jack Kennedy, in the sixth round, Leo Jensen was disqualified by the referee, Mr A. Anderson, a few minutes before the gong in the final round in a professional wrestling contest at Wanganui tonight before a medium-sized house. The bout was entertaining, but was not productive of good wrestling and during the last two rounds was marked by much showmanship, Jensen being the worst offender. The police had to intervene in the last round when the wrestlers tried to fight outside the ring. Shortly afterward Jensen kicked his opponent in the stomach when getting into the ring and was disqualified. Kennedy did not want this verdict and sought to continue the bout, the crowd backing him up. After the referee had experienced trouble in separating the men, the police stepped in.
