WEDDING BELLS

WOODBRIDGE-ADDY. A wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised on December 228th, in St. John’s Anglican Church, Tuakau, which had been beautifully deoorated for-;the occapion. .1 The contracting parties were Florence, only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Addy, of Tuakau (and formerly of Te Awamutu) and Walter Herbert, elder son of Mr and Mrs H. J. Woodbridge, also of Tuakau. The Rev. C. At Vaughan officiated. (The bride, who entered the church with her father, locked charming in a frock of ivory satin beaute, made with a lace Vandyked yoke and satin roll-collar fastening at the back, with fancy buttons. The tight-fitting sleeves were finished at the wrist with a dainty bow. The skirt, which was inset with lace godets, in the back, fell into a graceful train. The beautiful veil, which was of real Brussels lace, was finished with orange blossom, and the bride carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss G. Huckstep, of Devonpoi't, and Miss A. Roberts, of Te Awamutu, wore long pink frocks, and flared skirts and cape sleeves being trimmed with pink roses. Their hats were of pink lace and tulle and they carried beautiful bouquets of pink roses and maidenhair fern. The little flower girl, Melva Ellery, of Pukekohe, wore a long frock of pink georgette with a double row of frilling at the hem and also around the cape. Her pretty cap was of tulle and pink satin. She carried a posy of pink carnations. David Black, of Tuakau, was page-boy. He wore a pink satin suit and carried a white satin cushion. Mr Nelson Woodbridge, of Tuakau, was best man, and Mr Gordon Adams, of Ngatea, groomsman. Mr Thomas, of Tuakau acted as usher. During the ceremony, Miss Molly Vaughan rendered a solo and Mrs Rushworth played the wedding music. A reception was held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, where Mrs Addy received her guests wearing an ensemble of mulberry georgette and angelskin lace with fawn relief and hat to tone. Her bouquet was of deep cream roses and maidenhair fern. She was assisted by Mrs Woodbridge, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a frock of blue floral crepe suede, with coat and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted roses and maidenhair fern. The bride travelled in a brown tunic frock with accessories to tone. Among those present were guests Auckland, National Park, Pukekohe, Waitakaruru, Te Awamutu, Papakura, Mercer, Hamilton, Waiuku, and surrounding districts.
