EXTREME MEASURES.
Sandy on his first visit to London lost sixpence in Piccadilly Circus. Hopefully he reported his loss to a traffic policeman. “We’ll get out a search party for it,” sarcastically replied the officer. Sandy apparently took the reply at its face value, for, passing by the same spot fh e following day, he saw a gang of workmen tearing up the road. “I say, mon,” he said to the officer, “it’s verra guid of you to get them to do this for me, but ye needna ha’ bothered.”
