AUSTRALIAN DAIRYING.

New Zealand dairymen will be interested to learn that reports recieved toward the end of last month by the Australian Dairy Produce Export Board stated that in Queensland hot weather had followed rains and the outlook was not at all bright as pastures were again drying up. More rain was greatly needed in New South Wales, and the production of butter appeared to be stationary. Hot, dry weather had been experienced in South Australia, and the output of butter was falling rapidly. Imports of butter from other States would be necessary in January. Production was falling slowly in Western Australia, where the weather was dry, but cool. In Tasmania production was being maintained, occasional showers of rain having fallen and the weather being hot. Very little rain has fallen in Victoria, and the warm weather had caused a rapid decline in output.
