On Christmas Day,. King George will speak from England to his subjects in all parts of the world., Unfortunately, as New Zealand is so much ahead of the Homeland in point of time, it will be Boxing Day—and the very early hours of Boxing Day —before listeners in the Dominion will have the privilege of hearing His Majesty's voice. An Emipirei-wide broadcast has been arranged, culminating in the King's speech. This will be heard in New Zealand a.m. CNew Zealand time), on Boxing Day. The actual broadcast in England will start at 1.55 a.m. (New Zealand time), the opening items being five minutes of Enrpire bells., followed by Big Ben's chiming. New Zealand's contribution to the programme will be selections on the Wellington Carillon by Miss Gladys Wfatkins, a talk on whaling, and a talk on dairying. The Radio Broadcasting Board will probahly, at a later and more convenient time, present a recorded version of the broadcast for the benefit of those who were unable to listen-in in the early hours of Boxing Day.
