A NIGHT OF LAUGHS

ST. ANDREW’S SENIOR BIBLE CLASS. St. Andrew’s Senior Bible Class provided a very amusing two hours last Wednesday night in the Church Hall. The “ full house ” entered into the spirit of what was advertised as a social entertainment, and it really took the form of a playette to support a stream of minstrel jokes and songs. “ When the cat’s away the mice will play,” and “Jo” decided to invite all his friends—Pete (one of the chief entertainers), Sambo, and Rastus-. —and their “ missuses ” and others to a spree in the drawingroom. Wild hilarity was the order until the ladv of the house returned and “Jo ” caught it. The scene changed to a camp-fire among the firs, and a number of favourite negro soirituelles were sung around the glowing logs. Great credit is due to the class members for the way in which they arranged the whole evening and took their respective shares, great and small. Perhaps special mention should be made of Mr Frank Mason, the “producer,” and Mrs F. Gibson, the accompanist. Such efforts encourage the team spirit, and all who were present appreciated the goodfellowship as well as the night’s fun. Requests have been made to the class to repeat the performance in the near future. Sur.per was provided by Bible Class members, and a social half hour brought the evening to a close all too The -church funds will probably benefit to the extent of £9 or £lO.
