OTOROHANGA NEWS

ITEMS OF INTEREST. (Our Resident Representative.) Four Rugby contests on the Island Reserve Otorohanga, on Saturday afternoon, drew a good attendance of interested spectators, and provided many thrills throughout the contests. Seniors: Old Boys engaged United in a sterling battle for supremacy, the former eventually winning by 6 points to 3. The game between Otorohanga and Otewa was keenly fought by both packs, eleven points each being eventually compiled, and the game was declared a draw. The juniors’ games were equally interesting. Old Boys defeated Kio Kio by 11 to 3, and United registered 9 against Otorohanga, who failed to compile any score. Although a drizzling rain commenced to fall in the late afternoon it did not interfere with the play to any noticeable extent.
