UNUSUAL ACCIDENT
BURNT WITH SODIUM CHLORATE An unusual and painful accident befel Mr H. Hammond, of Wiltsdown last week (says the Morrinsvi'le Star). He was using sodium chlorate in conjunction with lime as a top-dressing, and apparently some of the mixture worked into his boots. When he put his feet near the fire the socks at once ignited causing severe burns. Mrs Hammond, in helping to extinguish the flames, had her hands burned.
