DANCE MELODIES
BACK TO OLD TUNES. ! This season of 1932 is bankrupt of dance melodies (says the Sunday Express, of London). The craze for rhythm has gone, and dancers are asgain for melody. But the tunes asking again for melody. But the tunes cannot be found. , Only three modern tunes, " Mona Lisa," " o—Moana," and " Live, Love and Laugh," have been really popular during the last few months. Bands are obliged to revive old favourites, and " Dinah Lee," " Wonderful One," " Brown Eyes," " All Alone," "I Want to be Happy," and "Always " are crowding the dance floors to-day. The youngest dancers find in them the freshness of new tunes, while older people welcome them for senti--1 mental reasons. What has happened to the young composers?
