Radio listeners generally wiU no doubt be favourably impressed by the decisions announced in the report of l ßr L ° l adca Z t Cover age Commission. With the strengthening of the four mam stations in NeWZealand, and the provision of assistance to certain B stations, the area satisfactorily covered will be greatly extended. These are the broad results of the:Commission s investigations. There may be criticism on the point that a-bolder and more progressive policy might have been adopted. The whole" question, ..however, is dominated by the factor of finance. From ttrs point of view-it is satisfactory that such measure of progress as.the Commission has been able to concede has been found possible. The rural districts nvill largely benefit and thus the am- ' enities of country life will be greatly enhanced. That is a very graffying feature of a report-which in all respects bears evidence of painstaking investigation "and .a careful^weighing of all factors Mphe situation-as it obtains in this country.
