REQUEST FOR RECEIVER.
(By Telegraph. Press Association.) THAMES, Monday.
An application to have a receiver appointed in the Thames borough, which has been forced to default in interest payments on £250,000 has been refused by Mr Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court at We'.'lmgtoh. The application was made by an Australian debenture holder. Any other applications will stand adjourned for a month to enable the Governor-General to appoint a commissioner under the Thames Borough Commisisoner Act, passed at the last session of Parliament. No costs were allowed against the applicant. The judge said that the Court might have regard to the wishes of the majority under section 48 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act. In this case a receiver would not be appointed.
