SOCIAL AND PERSONAL
Mrs T. H. Harding, of Waharoa, is visiting griends in Te Awamutu. Miss Edna Jones, of Kihikihi Road, who has been spending a holiday in Auckland, returned home on Saturday. Mrs S. J. Nobes, of Young Street, received cabled advice on Saturday afternoon last of the death of her mother in England. An interesting wedding is to be solemnised in Te Awamutu to-morrow, when Miss Alberta Garland, of Waharoa, and Mrs Jack Wallace of Te Awamutu, will be the principals.
Mrs C. G. Downes has been appointed patroness of the Te Awamutu Croquet Club, in succession to Mrs K. C. Rickit, who indicated her desire not to be re-appointed.
Advice has been received in Te Awamutu that Mrs F. H. Barnett, of Ngahape, who went to Auckland ten days ago, has had to undergo a rather severe operation in a private hospital there. Latest advices indicate that she is making a satisfactory recovery.
