The sti*ains o:1 the “Red Flag” mingled with a Maori haka were heard on the platform of the Huntly railway station this afternoon, when five men who had been convicted in the Huntly Police Court a short time previously on charges of inciting lawlessness were being taken to Auckland by train. The men were on their way to serve sentences of thi - ee months’ imprisonment, arising out of a raid on a grocery store. As Toon as the train reached the station, the five convicted men were placed on board, while the crowd swarmed round. Although it could not be said that there was a demonstration, some degree of feeling was displayed. A section of the onlookers commenced to smg the “Red Flag." while the large pi-oportion of Maoris present gave a haka to farewell theprisoners.
