LUXURY BATHS
The cult of open-air bathing is steadily attracting an increasing number of exponents in London (writes a correspondent), and it is anticipated that the existing baths, numerous though they are and capable of catering for thousands of enthusiasts each day, will not be sufficient to meet the demand during the coming summer. One district, however, on the northern outskirts of the metropolis will be more adequately provided for in the way of fresh-water swimming baths after May than it has been in the past, as the construction theire of the largest and most modernly luxurious baths in London, if not in England is being pushed rapidly toward completition. The main pond is 200 feet long and 80 feet broad, which should mean ample accommodation for even an exceptionally large crowd of visitors, and the accompanying amenities are on a similarly grandiose scale. Round about the bath there will be shingle beds for sun-bathing, wWe expanses of lawn, and beautiful sunken gardens, while on the roof of the club-house, which will contain dressing rooms and several hundred dressing boxes in two tiers with a balcony, there will be a refreshment hall set in the midst of a flower garden.
