SENTENCE OF DEATH

RECENT AUCKLAND MURDER. WELLINGTON, Monday. It is expected that the Executive Council will make a decision this week in the case of George Rameka, who was sentenced to death on August 6 for the murder at Auckland on June 24, of Mrs Gwendoline Johnson. The relevant papers are now before the Attorney-General, the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, and there is every probability that the Executive Council will meet to-morrow to consider the case and decide whether the sentence shall be carried out.
