CONDUCT AT DANCES

« A DISGRACE TO CIVILISATION.”

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, this day.

That the conduct at two recent dances was a disgrace, not only to the city but also to civilisation, was a statement made at a meeting of the City Council last night. It was declared that if the conduct at some dance halls did not improve the proprietors stood a grave risk of losing their licenses. The Mayor said in some city supper rooms the behaviour was just as bad as in the dance halls.
