BODY FOUND ON BEACH

FATE OF A MAORI. NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday. The body of a native, Poki Martin, was found on the beach below a cliff near Motunui, five miles from Waitara, yesterday morning. Two residents went to Matin’s house and found a fire burning. On searching they found a hat and socks on top of the cliff, a quarter of a mile away. They saw a body on the beach which they recovered when the tide fell.
