A tragedy that appears to be the outcome of domestic unhappiness occurred here to-night, and as a result a woman lost her life and her husband lies in the hospital. The persons involved are William Henry Brauman, aged 45, and Dorothy Brauman, his wife, aged 35. The tragedy was enacted at the St. . Clair Beach, near the esplanade, at j

about 8.20 p.m. Brauman was picked up in an unconscious condition with a bullet wound in his head. Close by was the body of his wife. She had been shot through the head. It is understood the Brauman, who

recently arrived from Invercargill, where he folloAved the occupation of a carpenter, was separated from his wife. » .
