FIRE BRIGADE
DEMONSTRATION ON SATUR-
DAY. The demonstration which is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Albert Park, Te Awamutu, should prove an attraction for many people. It affords an opportunity of witnessing the work of the Brigade under keen competition. In all, fourteen teams have been entered by the brigades from Tauranga, Waihi, Paeroa, Thames, Te Aroha, Morrinsville, Cambridge, Matamata, Ngaruawahia, Te Kuiti, Pukekohe, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, and Otorohanga. This is an evidence of the keen competition that will arise. Te Awamutu Fire Brigade hasmade diligent preparation in expectation of a worthy public response, and no effort has been spared in arranging a programme which will be spectacular and entertaining for the public. The first event is set down to begin at noon. In all, sixteen trophies have been presented to the Brigade for competition. The officials for Saturday are Fireman Swift, of Te Kuiti, timekeeper, and Deputy-Superintendent Thompson, Cambridge, judge. These two acted as officials at the big Dominion demonstration at Hokitika last year.
Stalls will be in evidence at the park, and also in progress during the afternoon will be a cricket match at which the Waipa eleven will be pitted against a team from Auckland suburbs.
