A MINERAL SPRING
IN KAIPAKI DISTRICT. A bridge builder working in the vicinity called the attention of Mr J. W. Civil, engineer to the Waipa County Council, to a spring located about half a chain back from the roadway on what is called to Parallel Road, in the Kaipaki district. This road runs from Ohaupo and joins the main Cambridge-Te Awamutu Road near Monavale. On investigation Mr Civil found a spring of fairly considerable size and sending a stream of water to a swamp creek to a lower level. The water has a slight smell of sulphur and a decided soda taste. It is certainly deserving an investigation to determine what mineral properties this water dees contain. The spring is located about three miles from the turn off from, the main Cambridge-Te Awamutu road.
