WAIPA COMPETITIONS. SATURDAY'S RESULTS. Playing conditions on Saturday last were good, and the Waipa Cricket Association's competitions saw some interesting contests. HIGH SCHOOL V. KAIPAKI B. In the above match on Saturday High School batted first, scoring 187 runs for 6 wickets before closing the innings. Kaipaki made 30 and 46. For the winners Oram 53, Philp 43, Noble 36, Shepherd 25, Cavanagh 10 (not out), and Glasson 9 were the chief scorers, while for Kaipaki Dynes 10, Boyd 14 (not out), and Walker 8 made most of the runs. The chief feature of the game was the splendid fielding of the boys on both sides, particularly the Kaipaki players, who stuck to a heavy day's fielding and bowling in commendable style. High School took some fine catches in the second innings, Glasson (2), Cavanagh (2), and Selby i Ranson, and Snowden (1 each), while they also bowled very steadily, Snowden 5 for 9 in the first innings, Lord 1 for 0, McMahon 1 for 1, Selby 1 for 1, Cavanagh 2 for 10, Armstrong 3 for 3, and Glasson 2 for 6 doing best, while for Kaipaki C. Ganley, W. Ganley, Finley, and Bones performed well.
