KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR

BOY KILLED NEAR TE AROHA. TE AROHA, Wednesday. After the members of the Thames Valley Board had inspected the poles connected with the service at Mangaiti, three miles from Te Aroha, about 5 o'clock last evening, Mr H. Bush, a member of the Board and clerk of courts at Thames, was motoring home when the little son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Brinkly ran across the road and was" struck by the car and killed. It appears that the lad was warned of the approaching car but did not take sufficient notice. He had been given a ride home from school by Mr Allan Wight and had just alighted j from Mr Wight's car. j The parents of the lad were away from home at the time, and were met at Paeroa by the passengers of the car, who gave them the news. General sympathy" is felt with Mr and Mrs Brinkly, and also with Mr Bush.
