ACCIDENT AT FOOTBALL
Soon after play was commenced at Albert Park last Saturday, in the match United seniors v. Technical Old Boys (Hamilton) one of the visiting combination named Banks had the misfortune to break a leg. It seemed that Banks and one of the United team were kicking at ther rolling ball when their legs crossed, and Banks’ leg snapped with the impact, in the lower part of the shin. Assistance was quickly at hand, and the sufferer was conveyed to Dr Hall’s surgery where the injury was dressed, and Banks was then dispatched to the Waikato Hospital. The injury was purely an accident, though none the less regrettable. It is a peculiar coincidence that the previous Saturday a Waikeria player, in a match with United juniors, sustained a broken leg in. precisely the same manner.
