(Own Correspondent). The county foreman, Mr D. Cameron, has retulrned from hospital, whelre he went some weeks ago for an operation necessitated from a rupture caused by a strain, sustained in the course of his work. He will fit for duty until another three weeks have elapsed.A motor accident occurred on the main road about six miles out towards Te Kuiti on Sunday morning. The car was full of passengers, and was driven by a resident ofl KJihikihi. At Ja bend two bicycles met, and the car walL driven so as to avoid the first, but a r Betoond appeared, anld the car hall to be taken to the extreme left of the road; consequently it went over the bank, which is fairly steep there.. No one but the driver was hurt, he being badly shaken and bruised. He was brought in to Dr Dean, who attended J his injuries, and then drove the party home. Lambing has been very good in this i district this season. Mr Rearing of Kio Kio, out of a flock of 965 ewes, obtained an average of 110 per cent. Other flocks also show good returns, although not so high as the one above quoted. The Waitomo Power Board's motor car was taken, from behind the Board's >■ store at the corner of Te Kanawa and Maniapoto Streets on Sunday night. Search was made for it yesterday, and it was eventually found abandoned, bogged in a swamp off the Hangatiki Road near Rothery's. As far as I can learn it was not dlamage'd. the Catholic ladies' committee contemplates having a children's masquerade and fancy dress ball at an early date, the proceeds to be in aid of the church debt. There may be a baby show in connection with the same gathering. No doubt the. affair will , ; prove a success, the arrangements being in able hands.
