MR C. GOSTELOW APPOINTED,

Mr C. Gotetelow, lately Deputy-Com-missioner. Actuary and Secretary of the Government Insurance Department, has been appointed. Government Actuary.

Mr Gostelow has hadl *a. brilliant career, and is the you.'ngest man in New Zealand and Australia holding the fellowship degree of the Institute of Actuaries (London). This degree covers the field of finance, economics, insurance, law and medical science, and is universally recognised as the highest diploma in the actuarial' and life assurance world. Mr Gostelow has taken an active part in the affairs o:f the Aoturial Society of Australasia, and in 1920 was a member of the council of that body. He ha/s had -an exceptionally wide andi varied training in the sphere of life assurance as the result of his experience first in the head office of the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance 'Company, then as assistant actuary and accountant of the City Mutual iLife Assurance Society, and finally as actuary secretary and deputy-commissioner of the Government Life Insurance Department.
