Honesty no doubt pays, but in some cases the payment is comparatively negligible. A purse was lost recertly on the West Coast, duly advertised for and returned to its owner by the disciple of honesty who picked it up (says the Grey'Star). The purse conv'ained over £6O in cash, a diamond ring, and a diamond brooch, the jewellery being estimated to be worth nearly as much as the cash. The reward given to the finder was a 10s note!
