Passengers by the Aorangi state that British residents in Honolulu have expressed strong indignation at the sharp contrast between the hospitalities extended to the (German Avarship Hamburg and her crew on 17th June and the chilly reception.to H.M.'S. Diomede early in January. Honolulu doned gala'garb and gave the Germans a great reception. In the shop windows and across the streets from the buildings on each* side were displayed in German words, "Welcome" to the Hamburg." and her officers and. crew were • .enterftrfinjed,- i'at various functions. The Diomede was allowed to enter the harbour practically unannounced.
