CAR’S TWO SOMERSAULTS
BOUNDS OVER FENCE DRIVER’S LUCKY ESCAPE. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.) TAIHAPE. Wednesday. Alfred H. Gregory, taxi proprietor, was admitted to the hospital at one o’clock this morning, suffering from injuries sustained as the result of his ear going over a bank on the Mataroa Road.. Mr, Gregory wjas Returning from a country trip and the car went over the side of the road and dropped over twenty feet. The vehicle turned two somesau’ts. bounded clear over the top of the .fence and came to rest at the bottom of the bank with the wheels in the air. The car caught fire and the benzine tank exploded, causing serious damage to the car. Mr Gregory managed to get to a nearly house, whence medical assistance was summoned. Though the driver, who was the sole occupant, went over with the car. he escaped with a broken arm and minor injuries. He is making a good recovery.
