MOTOR DRIVERS' LICENSES
STRICTER SUPERVISION URGED. The town clerk, Hamilton, wrote to the Waipa County Council meeting on Monday pointing but the need for strict supervision of the issue of motor drivers' licenses. Many applicants seemed to have a very slight knowledge of borough by-laws, and thus were apt to' be responsible for accidents or breaches of the by-laws. Cr Livingstone moved that the letter be received. The offenders were usually not novices aUall, but experienced drivers, including some lawyers—in fact, some of the fraternity who had been partly responsible for the drafting of the by-laws. Cr McCarthy suggested that Hamilton Borough Council be asked to post its by-laws in prominent places for the benefit of motorists; l visiting. they
