THE MARSDEN SEAT

MR MURDOCH’S CANDIDATURE,

(By Telegraph. Press Association.) WHANGAREI, Friday.

At a meeting of the Whangarei Liberal Association Executive last evening, it was unanimously agreed to support the candidature of Mr A. J. Murdoch, M.P., for the Marsden seat.

The question of Mr Murdoch being reported as the nominee of the Country, as apart from an accepted candidate, was discussed very freely. The Liberal Association expressed gratification that the Country party was willing to support a progressive Liberal candidate., but wished emphatically to point out that Mr Murdoch is not the “nominee” of either of these two associations, but individually and separately, they have agreed that the sitting member is the only likely one to bring about the political change so much needed in the Dominion, on which reasoning support of his candidature is based.
