TO BE SCREENED WEDNESDAY. •if you have a weakness for anything, you'll get it if you want it badly enough," says Mae Murray, star of -Jazzamania," to he screened at. the Empire Theatre on Wednesday. "That's been my motto, and to it 1 attribute my stage success. In my own case I wanted to he a dramatic actress. I could dance well—l was in Ziegfeld's Follies for several years —but I never got an opportunity to do really emotional acting. So I capitalised my dancing ability, and it brought me to the place I wanted to reach finally. In fact, my screen de-
but came when I was a member of the Follies. This sounds unusual, but it's every bit true. In that production one of the novelties was a short motion picture interlude. The audience found itself gazing at another audience on the screen. Down the aisle of this picture theatre I came and walked up to the stage. The screen was then raised, and there I was in person on the regular stage of the new Amsterdam Theatre."
