WAIKATO SALES. The Farmers’ Co-operalive Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At Hamilton sale on Tuesday there was a small entry of sheep, which sold readily, values being quite as good as at recent sales. A pen of extra prime wethers and ewes brought ,C2 13 s; a small lot ,of very good ewes £2 10s; two pens of wethers which could have carried more condition £2 4s; good wethers and hoggets 265; ewe hoggets 275; small hoggets 21s; a line of 136 nice woolled store wethers low in condition brought 31s 6d. The ox beef penned was not quite up to the quality of the last few sales, although some excellent cow beef was offered. Good values again ruled. steers selling to £l2 10s, lighter sorts £6 10s to £7 11s. The top price for cows was £l2; good cows £7 17s 6d to £9 10s; other butchers' sorts £5 to £6 12s; forward cows £2 5s to £3 15s; stores £1 7s 6d to £2; yearling heifers 14s to £1 18s; bulls £1 11s to £4 ss. For good dairy heifers there was a better enquiry, any close to profit selling readily, best making £8 to £l2 10s, a line of 15 Jersey and cross averaged just ,over £10; others £5 5s to £7 10s; a good Jersey cow made £ll 11s; others £4 15s to £7. A good entry of pigs sold readily, values being unaltered. Heavy baconers sold from £3 15s to £4 4s. medium £3 10s to £3 16s; heavy porkers to light baconers £2 15s to £3 ss; light porkers £2 8s to £2 12s. The advertised line of pedigree pigs attracted a great deal of attention, the sows selling up to £7 5s and averaging between £5 and £6; sows with young £B. There was no demand for the boars. Other store pigs 24s to 35s 6d; weaners 18s to 21s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report:—At Frankton yards on Tuesday we had an average entry of fat sheep, and a fair yarding of beef of good quality. The stores consisted mainly of cows in low condition. Sheep realised higher values, and although there was strong competition for beef, vendors’ reserves in some cases could not be obtained. Store cows sold well, also dairy heifers in condition close to profit. We quote: Good fat cows £7 18s to £9, others £4 6s to £5 10s, empty cows in fresh condition £2 8s to £3. store cows £1 6s to £1 17s 6d, Jersey cross heifers £2 18s, springing heifers £4 to £5 10s, dairy cows £3 to £6, prime fat ewes £2 7s 3d to £2 9s 3d; fat wethers £2 6s. Pigs: A good yarding of fat and store pigs came forward. Bidding on fat pigs was keen, while stores were below last week’s prices. Prices realised were: Heavy baconers £3 10s to £4 6s, medium baconers £2 19s to £3 7s, good porkers £2 5s to £2 16s, unfinished £1 Is 6d to £2 3s, slips (good) 27s to 355. good weaners 16s to £1 Is, others 11s 6d to 14s.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday as under: —There was a moderate yarding of sheep, including some nice quality pens. The demand was good, and late high prices were easily maintained, and in many cases exceeded. Extra prime heavy fat ewes made up to £2 11s 6d, ordinary quality fat ewes 37s to 40s 6d, a few hoggets 325. There was a good yarding of beef, which sold at full late rates. Prime fat heavy cows made up to £ll ss, medium weight nice quality cows £9 12s 6d. good quality cow beef equal to 31s per 1001 b, moderate quality cows at equal to 25s per 1001 b; prime ox beef up to 34s per 1001 b. The demand for young store cows and yearling heifers was better, and all offered sold at higher rates. Forward cows made up to £2 15s, store young cows made up 25s to 355, aged cows 10s to 20s, 18 month old heifers £2 15s, yearling heifers Friesian and Jersey cross £2 9s, Shorthorn yearlings 22s 6d, Jersey grade bull 30s. Choice dairy cows made up to £lO 10s, aged and inferior £3 to £6. Pigs were yarded in large numbers, and prices were slightly easier. Stores still realise very payable prices to the breeders. LONDON WOOL SALES. N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 4th inst: London Wool Sales: Full attendances at opening to-day, and competition by Home and Continental buyers good. Prices as compared close preceding series ruled par to 5 per cent, higher for Merino wool, fine and coarse, and slipe Crossbred, and 5 per cent, higher for medium Crossbred.
