out roads in the riding. Webster's gate to Harris' crossing. —ln company with the chairman, I interviewed! the commissioner of Crown lands, who has agreed to allow several small sections on this proposed line of road to go to adjoining owners at a fair price. This will do away with several short access roads and enable us to fix up matters more satisfactorily. I have arranged for- Mr Hayes to make a survey this week. As mentioned in a previous report, I beg to state that the damage being done to the roads in the Rangiaowhia, Orakau, and Mangapiko ridings by the Dried Milk Company's motor lorries is a serious matter.} as these roads have been metalled with only a light coat of metal, and the present funds will not keep them in repair 1 think a levy should be made on the milk carted.
