SEAMEN'S UNION MEETS.
PREFERENCE TO UNfOMSTS
By Teleeraph. Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The executive council of the Federated Seamen's Union is again meeting in Wellington, and it is assumed I hat negotiations may take place with Ihe owners. If the union decides to apip'oach the owners it thought it will ask that preference he given to members. This would have the effect of compelling non-unionists at present in the ships to join the union and would get over the difficulty created by the refusal of the companies lo dispe?].-.? with the services of men who came to their assistance when the trouh'e arose.
