A curious trophy of the chase is in the 'possession of Mr C. H. Whitehead, of Palmerston North. It is a front leg of a wild pig with two properly formed trotters attached. They are of similar size, and both reached the ground during the pig's peram bulalions through its haunts in the native bush of 'Paranaki's hinterland.
Mr L. A. Rutherford, president, of the Canterbury Sheepowners' Union, heartily condemned the Arbitration Court the other evening. He said : " The Court, as far as it a-ffeots the tanning industry, I look upon as a cur*. It kills ambition, and ruins efficiency. The law we should aim to work' under is that safe old law ot supply and demand, with -as little interference a.s possible."
