TE AWAMUTU SCHOOLS.

► MEETING OF COMMITTEE

The 'ordinary meeting of the Te Awamutu School Committee was held last night, when there were present: Messrs 0 F. Battson ■ (chairman), S. H, West, G. S. Clarke,, T. D. Thomas, F. Bowden, G. W. Mairs, C. W. Ricklt, and R. Ross.

An offer by Miss Stevenson to donate £1 toward the purchase of supplementary readers provided the committee subsidised the amount was accepted. The chairmian and Messrs We&t and Bowden 'were appointed ,a sirb-convmit-tee to co-operate with the ladies' committee 'in organinsing a children's dance. Mr Bowden gave notice to move that in future meetings of the committee be held monthly, instead of fortnightly, as heretofore. The committee agreed to a .request from the Auckland Education Board to provide a central room suitable :for dental surgery, etc. By so doing, the committee will Ihe entitled to the services of a dental nurse in the near future. Messrs Ross and Rickit and the headmaster were appointed to .report at next meeting on the matter of placr the seats in. the school ground, while the chairman was asked to give an estimate of installing a shower bath at the s'chool buildings. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Messrs J. T. 'Lees and F. H. Vile for donation of 'badge and pair of boxing gloves, respectively. Accounts amounting to £l2 were i passed for payment, and tihe meeting terminated.
