OTOROHANGA NOTES.
(Resident Representative.) Te Raumauku Social.
A most enjoyable evening was spent by the Te Raumauku settlers last Saturday evening at the school-house, Mr C. Horseman having invited his neighbours to a social gathering.' The programme was of vocal and instrumental music, and those taking part were heartily applauded for their successful efforts. Those taking part were the Misses Cato and A. Roberts and Mrs J. Nelson, Messrs J. Watson and W. Boorger. A vocal quatette by the children was a feature of the programme. At intervals Mr Horseman gave phoographic records of popular songs, and these were greatly appreciated. Messrs Cato, 'Roberts, Bond and Horseman gave a vocal quartette, Mrs Horseman playing the aecompaimen'ts. Then there were recitations by Messrs Davy, Banfield, Bowger, .Baker and A. Cometry and Mrs C. Horse- v imam. Mr C. Horseman enlivened the proceedings by several stump speeches and Mr E. C Davey played several items on the accordeon. Every number -was heartily applauded. t A boutiful light supper Was provided by the ladies, to whom every credit is due for a most delightful evening's entertainment. Bowling Clnb. Seven new members 'were elected to the Otorohoga Bowling Club at their last meeting. The question of retainSg the nomination fee of 10s 6d was discussed and x it was resolved that wbiilst this should be enforced the sum would Ibe deducted from the first year's subscription. The late Mangiaoirongo 'Road Board's rate subsidies for 1918-19 and 1919-20 have now been, authorised, the amounts tfor the 'two periods being £9O 15s and £BB 17s lid. -
