SALE OF LIQUOR.
SEQUEL TO POLICE RAID
(By Telegraph. Press Association.) OHRTST.CHURGH, 'This Day.
Charges arising out of a police raid on the 'Lyttelton Club when, it is alleged,' a quantity of liquor was exposed for sale (without license, were heard yesterday. The first case was against Thomas Gellety for selling liquor without a •license.
The police stated that two constables visited the clulb with a member thereof and had several drinks, 'which were paid for' with coupons purchased from Gellety, who was a'cting as b'ariman.
Defendant stated that the club purchased liquor which was not'sold for gain and could only be bought with coupons. The Magistrate reserved his ' decsiion. Other cases were adjourned.
