OBITUARY.
MRS BEN McGECHIE,
The many friends of Mr Ben McGechie will regret to learn of the death of his wife, lVho pas bed peacefully away this morning after a lengthy illness which she bore with cheerful Christian fortitude. With her husband, the late Mrs McGeehie settled at Kihikihi twenty-four years ago, and had resided in the Waikato ever since, spending the last ten years of her life in Te Awamutu. Along with Mr McGeehie she was a prominent worker in Methodist Church circles; and a tireless toilet in the fields of charity and other good works ; where she will be greatly missed. She leaves a husband and one son (Mr John McGeehie) to mourn the loss of a good and faithful lifepartner, and a loving and exemplary mother. In their bereavement they will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. The funeral will take place to-mor-row.
JOHN JOHNSON. Mr T. Fawcett received advice this morning that John C. Johnson, wellknown as “ Jack” Johnson, passed away at the Waikato Hospital at Hamilton this morning, death following a serious operation, which he underwent lastt week. The deceased had been employed for a time at the mart, and lately had resided with Mrs Brisco at Ngahape. He was well-known in musical, social and athletic circles, being at one time a very prominent and successful runner. The news of his death came as a Severe shock to his many friends in Te Awamutu and district.
