PASSING EVENTS CHRONICLED

The death has occurred of-Mr James Zounie aged 81 years. Deceased came from Scotland about 17 years ago, and had resided here ever since. So far we, have had an exceptionally good winter, and the roads are in good order. A few heavy frosts at the end o*f last month checked the August growth of grass .and the pastures are very hare now, but nice warm rain would soon freshen them. This season’s lambs have Already made their appearance, and there are also a number of cows in profit. It is to be hoped that sheepfarmerS will, get better returns this year. The stock market is brighter than it was a few weeks ago, Ibuht wii lnot improve a great dealj. until credit becomes easier.
