Two were selected and half a pint was taken from each. The effect of the transfusion will not be known for some time. A motorist who was before the Gisborne Court recently on a charge of failing to comply with the by-laws, complained that although the offence was alleged to have been committed on the 13th of the month, he had not been served with a summons until the 29th, and consequently could not recollect the incident. The presiding Justice commented that he thought the police should give earlier notification of procedure. The Senior-Ser-geant explained that it was customary to inform an offender the first time he was seen that action was being taken against him.
