The war memorial appeal is meeting with a ready response, the subscriptions to date amounting to chpse on £2OO. On this showing, and noting that only a small percentage of the people have yet subscribed, it is safe to predict that at least £IOOO will be available by the end of next month when the list closes. A meeting of ladies is to be held to-morrow afternoon as advertised to further the negotiations.
