A PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.

On the 30th June the Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Co. offered at Hamilton the pedigree Jersey herd of Mr E. Hodges, of Waimana. Buyers representing all the surrounding districts were present, and in most instances good competition resulted. .Mr Hodges was no doubt seriously handicapped through having to convey his cattle to a market so remote from home, and many instances of foot weariness .in .the animals were apparent. Apart from this the cattle bore the journey well. The highest figure of the day was realised by the cow SherwoodTs Myosotis (Great Scot —Verbena of Meadowbrook). She was. still under test at the date of sale. The. price was 105 guineas, and the. purchaser Mr John Taylor, Ruatangaata Springs. Kamo. Whangarei. Other lots sold were: Snow Cap. 30 guineas. Mr G.
