OBJECTIONABLE POSTERS.

CINEMA DISPLAY NOTICES.

STRICTER CENSORSHIP WANTED

(By Telegraph. Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

The movement towards securing a stricter censorship of picture posters and programmes again Qame before the Board of Education Yesterday.

A reply from the Minister of Internal Affairs to representations made by the Board was read to the meeting. The Minister stated that although he had been in office only a few weeks he regretted to say that several similar complaints on the subject had come to him, and from samples of handbills and advertisements forwarded to him it was evident that some action would required to be taken to effect an improvement in the interests of the younger members of the community. He was at present making inquiries to see whether there was power under the existing law to* censor handbills, posters, etc. If there is not then he purposed bringing the matter to the notice of Cabinet with a view of having legislation introduced during the present session.
