DISTRICT AND DILLON SHIELD CDMPETITiONS FIRST ROUND TO WAIPAWA. Honors in the first round of the District and Dillon Shields competitions between the Waipawa and Waipukurau Bowling Clubs, played on Saturday afternoon, were decidedly with Waipawa, who won five out of the six games, Playing conditions were ideal, although the greens were on the slow side. The second round will be played next Saturday and the third on the 14th. Results were as under, Waipawa players being named first: — Angus, Strang, Ireland, Fleet; 18; Renner, Wharmby, Cnmmanc, Cook, 15. Nissen, Larsen, Mclntosh, Critchley, 26; Dunne, Chambers, Mills, McLean, 12. Bjorngaard, Little, Dunkin, Patterson, 25; Collier, Paget, Ewan, Haldane, 20. Edwards, Clark, Limbrick, Eagle, 8; Annand, Brommell, Skidmore, Lourie, 25. Davy, Goulding, Murray, Jopson, 22; Stapleton, Johnston, Mclvor, Carpenter, 15. McKay, McDonell, Walker, Bolt, 27; Hitc-hen, Mcßride, Gardiner, Butler, 16. Gtanes: Waipawa 5, Waipnkurau 1. Points: Waipawa 126, Waipnkurau 103.
