HITLER JUBILANT,

“WE ARE SURE OF VICTORY.” LONDON, June 10. Hitler has telegraphed the following message to the King of Italy. “Providence has willed that, against our intentions, we are compelled to defend the freedom and future of our peoples against England and France. We are sure of victory, after which the vital rights of our nations will be secure for all time.” Hitler at length and cordially telegraphed Mussolini assuring him

of the indissoluble community in arms of Germany and Italy. The Nazi Foreign Minister, Joachim von Ribbentrop, issued a statement that Germany was jubilant to hear that Italy had decided, of her own free will, to join Germany. “Only after victory,” he said, “will a happy future be possible. ~ Victory is guaranteed by the indomitable might of our peoples and the great friendship of our leaders.”
